Raymond Schwarz Art Reception
As an artist for the past thirty-five years, I have strived to connect with my medium, using metals and paint to evoke the land and culture that surrounds me in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Having spent most of my life in the Southwest United States and Mexico, my work reflects the light and colors of the country. Also, the deserts and the mountains and of course, the vast skies and the ever present sun are great inspirations.
The Native cultures have also influenced the designs that flow throughout my work. The symbols, such as the animals, the plants and nature itself.
My life has also led to the Southeastern United States, North Carolina in particular. Where again, I have connected to the land and culture, inspiring me to take my work in many new directions.
My desire with my work is to move always forward to create a newness, trying to capture in my art, the beauty which surrounds each of us each day.
