Machin’ (ma-cheen: Spanglish Slang meaning “Supremely Excellent”) is a bilingual, Latin influenced band formed in the high desert of the Inland Empire. Their style, “Spanglish Jive”, is an eclectic combination of sounds ranging from Ska, reggae, cumbia, gypsy, and dance music. They bring a new original sound to the world that will make you want to dance, jive and jump.

Since the birth of the band in September 2012, Machin’ has made a strong presence in the Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin. They have played with Ozomatli, Quetzal, Robby Krieger of “The Doors”, Michael Bolton, and Josh Kelly. They have performed at the Joshua Tree Roots Festival, AMFM Festival, Kraft Nabisco Golf Tournament, The Hue Festival, and are becoming one of the valley’s most reputable bands.

Machin’ consists of Front man and guitarist David Macias, a Mexican born, Los Angeles raised song writer who began his professional career in music after 8 Years of military service. He is schooled in Mariachi, Latin, Reggae, Celtic and Rock.

The youngest member of the group, Bri Cherry, is classically trained in the Violin and brings her skills to the table. Born and raised in Orange County, she has made her way to the desert to be part of Coachella Valley’s new and upcoming musical militia.

Andy Gorrill on Bass is the music veteran in the band. He is a music educator in the community he grew up in, and has spent the last year giving back and sharing his knowledge to the upcoming generation.

Mitchell Arganda on drums and percussion gives Machin’ the added punch that brings people to their feet. Mitchell’s infectious grooves and finesse bind the band members into a musical embrace, transcending themselves and their audience into untraveled destinations.

Machin’ promotes unity through the manipulation of sound.
